HOW CAN WE HEAL?
How can we heal? Or more accurately, how can we begin to heal? Let’s face it --We ALL have physical challenges and aches and pains. Although some are clearly more serious or life threatening than others, we are all looking to heal something. The quest to uncover pain and feel better is part and parcel to the human condition and will undoubtedly be with us as long as we have humans on this planet.
WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
I invite you to join in and follow me as we embark on a unique healing journey together, investigating a unique variety of alternative and natural approaches along the way. All of us, have something we wish to heal. And if it’s not your knee or hip, then it’s your heart or your relationship, or your job. We all are looking for greater ease, less pain, more joy, freedom, clarity, less mental, spiritual or physical anguish. I’m here to help YOU by offering a different path that I promise will not only make you feel better, but will also (surprise surprise) bring you joy.
DANCE AND MOVEMENT REFLECT OUR HUMANITY
Professional dance has been my lifetime focus -- performing, creating, directing and teaching dance, fitness and creative movement to people of all ages. MOVEMENT tops my list as a prime healer! Dance above all, has taught me to love and respect my body.
Creative movement when generated from one’s own resources or improvisationally, is authentic, revealing, expressive and often healing.
We all move and most of us dance in one way or another (dancing in the kitchen to the radio counts!) and the more conscious we are of bringing movement or dance into our lives, the greater and fuller is our human life experience.
Essentrics, a fitness program designed to lengthen, strengthen and release adhering fascia, brings mobility, flexibility, vitality and healing to the body. I credit Essentrics with the lion’s share role of healing my replaced hip, my shoulder, neck and so much more!
ENERGY MEDICINE TO THE RESCUE FOR EMOTIONAL HEALING
Healing also takes place in the mind--our thoughts and emotions. Whether conscious or not, our feelings shape our lives. TAPPING (Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT) on the body’s acupressure points, opens a portal to our memories and helps release stuck emotions around past or present events. These ‘stuck’ sometimes buried emotions may cause us pain, fear, shame, anger or anxiety. With a quick, easy and no equipment needed process, Tapping has already helped over a million people worldwide. Studies have shown that folks who use EFT have recovered from depression and anxiety in just a few sessions! In future blogs, I will share some tapping meditations with you that will give you an idea of how effective this tool is!

DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING EXERCISE
Sit up comfortably with a lengthened spine on the floor, a chair or a bed:
Take a DEEP breath in thru your nose, filling up your belly to a slow count of 3. Put one hand on your belly and you can imagine your diaphragm lowering as the belly expands. Hold the breath for the count of 3, then exhale thru the nose or mouth to the count of 5 as your diaphragm rises. Hold for 3 counts. REPEAT ENTIRE SEQUENCE 3X END PRACTICE with one hand on heart and one on belly and say outloud (or to yourself): ‘I AM AT PEACE’ and enjoy the moment!
❤️NOTE: To deepen the practice, try lengthening your exhale to a longer count each time
